#BG-403 - Sphalerite on Quartz

Mogila orebody, Deveti Septevri (9th of September) Mine, Madan Deposit, southern Rhodope Mountains, Bulgaria

3 x 1.8 x 1 cm (1.2 x 0.7 x 0.4 inches) - $10.00

A single 8mm sphalerite is perched on a crystallized quartz base.  The sphalerite has a dark but slight greenish tinge that the locals refer to as "celophane", but helps in the confirmation of the location as this was probably the most well-known location for this mineral.  No damage.  A big thumbnail but will work.
