This coconut geode pair has more scientific interest than anything - to the decorator it is, quite frankly, ugly, but does show some of the mineral paragenesis that is seen in the coconut geodes. The geode is lined with a clear to light amethyst quartz, but a later stage of mordenite (white mineral) came in later and formed the white coating. Approximately 5% of all coconut geodes have mordenite in them, so it is more often you don't find something like this than you do (about 5 out of 100 geodes is like this).
