Calcite on Sphalerite on Dolostone - Cumberland Mine, Elmwood District, Smith Co., Tennessee

Several mostly doubly terminated orange transparent calcite crystals are nearly coating a sphalerite coated dolostone chunk. The calcites are mostly under 1 cm (0.4 inches) in length from tip to tip. Some missing terminations and chips along the edge of the specimen as one would expect, but no major or significant damage away from the edges of the piece. Good color and presentation. These type of specimens were always very easy to acquire given the smaller crystal size and likely higher abundance of such specimens. Not all had really good color to the crystals, however compared to this one.
