Calcite - Elmwood Mine, Elmwood District, Smith Co., Tennessee
9 x 5 cm, 9 cm tall (3.5 x 2 inches, 3.5 inches tall) - $35
A partial calcite crystal with a little attached cluster makes up the whole of this specimen. The specimen is likely just the end of a larger calcite crystal given the cleaves at the base. Specimen does sit up as shown, mainly due to these cleaves. The upper termination is slightly tipped and not totally crisp, as was the case with nearly but not all calcites from this mining district. Color is very accurate as shown in the photos.
