#NEW 08 - Apophyllite, Stilbite, Quartz on matrix

#NEW 08 Description: A good cabinet-sized specimen of green apophyllite and stilbite on a chalcedony/quartz and matrix base. The main group of apophyllites at the top of the specimen are all about 2.5-3 cm (1-1.2 inches) in length, individually, with other crystals trailing down the right side of the specimen, these are anywhere from 1-2.5 cm (0.4-1 inch) in length individually. Damage-wise there is a contact to either an apophyllite or stilbite crystal on the back of the cluster, it appears that a stilbite "nosed" its way up behind the cluster and was broken off at some point. This can be seen in the bottom left photo, there is a rather flat area on the back of the highest point in the middle of the specimen. When displayed as shown in the first (top) photograph this is hardly seen. A good green apophyllite specimen from a newer find in India, my sources tell me this specimen was collected earlier in 2004.
