Current Price List for year 2007 - prices are subject to change without notice but if any changes take place, they are usually at the first of the year and we notify ahead of time
The Geode Gallery operates on a retail/wholesale basis. This page contains our current price list for those businesses/individuals who own a business for the purpose of re-selling the products they buy from us.
In order to purchase at wholesale, you must have or do the following:
1) business re-sale/tax ID number from your state or country, 2) order at least the minimum amount indicated.
If you are ordering for the first time via wholesale from us AND you are located in the state of Illinois, we must receive a valid copy of your business registration or tax ID number to put on file and to report to the state of Illinois (state we do business in) each year. If you are out of state or in another country, we just need your full business name, address, phone number, and re-sale or tax ID number. We do not need a copy of your license unless you wish to submit it to us.

Wholesale Information: The Geode Gallery is very active in the direct importation of goods from countries other than the United States, and in the United States we only buy or self-collect straight from or at the source, or if not from the source, a dealer or agent that is in a relationship with the source where rock/mineral specimens are mined. We have established trustworthy business relationships with many overseas mine operators/wholesalers so you can be assured of quality products that can be re-sold for good profit.

Wholesale Price List
All prices listed below are FOB, Roseville, Illinois. See shipment options below price list. If an item on our website does not appear on this wholesale list, it means we do not wholesale such items. If you have any questions, please send us an email. Minimum order amount indicated for each product is minimum price wholesale.
Amethyst Cathedral Geodes: All geodes are imported direct from Brazil. Most suppliers/mine owners in Brazil sell geodes either by the "lot" (a group of geodes) or individual specimens if of exceptional quality or very large size. Minimum order is US $100.00. These geodes are sold in several different grades, or pictured as on the website.
Website Amethyst & Citrine Cathedral Geodes: Take 10% off marked retail price from $100-$500, 15% over $500.
We can import geodes in price ranges from as little as $1.50 per pound ($3.00/kg) to as high as $10-$15 per pound ($20-$30/kg) wholesale. Keep in mind that nearly all amethyst geodes are priced based on quality and the lowest quality geodes are the cheapest, while the highest priced geodes are the highest of quality, as expected. Many factors go into assessing a specific quality to a geode with color, symmetry (displayability), inclusions, and overall weight being the most important. For example, a geode with a thick skin and marginal amethyst color is low quality while a geode with a very thin skin, excellent deep amethyst color, and good symmetry is of highest quality.

A minimum order (in terms of $ USD) may be required for geodes purchased in quantity other than those on the website since most suppliers/mine owners in Brazil require a minimum order in order to purchase. Most geodes ordered in quantity will come in 55-gallon drums, or larger geodes will come in wooden crates. Simply tell us what you would like (quality, size, quantity) and we will have our suppliers put together a "lot" and send us pictures which we will forward to you for approval/disapproval. If approval is granted, we will proceed to purchase the specimens from the supplier, import them with our next order, and then send to you (see below for shipping). Cathedrals are sent by either air or sea freight - if by sea freight this can take up to 45-50 days once it leaves the port in Brazil so if you need something quickly please tell us so we import by air freight.

Keokuk Geodes from Sheffler's Geode Mine (old mine) - Alexandria, Missouri: Sheffler's Mines and Rock Shop has been forced by the State of Missouri to close earlier this spring (2006) to expand the Avenue of the Saints highway (US 61) through Sheffler's property in northeast Missouri. The future of the Sheffler operation is uncertain, and since no geodes can be dug from the mines, there are no wholesale prices or offers for geodes currently on our website from this location. The rock shop has been cleared away and a highway interchange is being built right over the former site of the shop.
We hope in the future to offer wholesale prices on Keokuk geodes again - please check back for updates or have us contact you when available.

Mexican "Coconut" Geodes - Chihuahua, Mexico: Mining and production of coconut geodes in Mexico is continuing and very active mining is taking place. We are able to offer wholesale discounts for both opened and un-opened geodes from Mexico. See the link below to see what these geodes look like and for more information. They are consistently among the finest quality coconut geode currently being mined in Mexico.

Opened Geode Pairs: See Website page for samples available. Take 15% off marked prices. Many pairs also available but not on website, so if you would like a certain size, please specify this to us when ordering.
Un-Opened (Whole) Solid Geodes: Minimum order quantity is 100 pounds (50 kilos). These geodes will all or nearly all be completely filled in with quartz (NO open crystal lined cavity) but many will contain the agate banding along the edges, just like the hollow geodes. Good for slabs or other craft purposes. This is not an item that we carry in our regular wholesale stock so please allow a minimum of 2 weeks for delivery.
Whole Solid Coconuts 2-4 inches: $2.00 / pound
Whole Solid Coconuts 5 inches or larger: $3.00 / pound
Un-Opened (Whole) Hollow Geodes: Minimum order quantity is 10 pounds, with more significant discounts available for orders of 50 pounds or more at a time. These geodes are guaranteed to be at least 90% hollow by volume.
Whole Hollow Coconuts 2-4 inches (orders between 10 and 50 pounds): $9.50 / pound regardless of size
Whole Hollow Coconuts 2-4 inches (at least 50 pounds ordered): $8.50 / pound
Whole Hollow Coconuts 4-7 inches (at least 50 pounds ordered): no longer offered wholesale
For geodes 4 inches and above, no wholesale discount is offered due to limited availability and higher wholesale prices. We have also found in our experience that the best geodes are those under 4 inches in diameter in terms of quality (better quality crystals). You can order specific sizes as well (if you want so many pounds of one size and so many pounds of another size, you can do that - the combined weight will be the amount figured for the order so if you wanted to order 25 pounds of 3 inch size and 25 pounds of 4 inch size to meet the 50 pound price break, you can do that to receive the higher price discount - just let us know your wishes).
Typically, a geode 2 inches in diameter is 4-5 ounces (0.25-0.30 pounds), 3-3.25 inches is right around 1 pound, a geode 4 inches is around 2 pounds each, give or take an ounce or two.

Mineral Specimens: Mineral specimens are sold on a wholesale basis in a case-by-case scenario or by specimen type. Our current wholesale buyers need to know that due to fluctuating market availability and the resultant change of prices, these prices may change without notice so please check this page or ask prices before ordering.
Minimum order on all minerals: $100.00
Elmwood, Tennessee minerals: We are sad to report that the Elmwood district in Tennessee ceased/quit mining activities in late May/early June 2003. All mines are filled with water and the mine shafts are all capped, so chances of re-opening are not possible or very, very unlikely many years from now. Due to this closure, we can no longer offer wholesale price brackets on this material. When production was active, material was available, but now it is becoming very difficult to buy and prices are starting to increase to buy such material.
All other minerals shown on the website will be discounted by the following price brackets:
Total order between $100-$300 retail marked prices - take 10% off
Total order between $300-$500 retail marked prices - take 15% off
Total order between $500-$1000 retail marked prices - take 20% off
Total order of $1000 or more, retail marked prices - take 25% off
Besides Elmwood material, we have a very large stock or can get a very large quantity of most all other minerals on the website. When ordering, tell us your needs if you need something other than pictured on the website. If we don't have it, we'll tell you how long it will take to get it and estimated price. Please keep in mind that even though large quantities are available or we can get a large quantity, the quality will still be high on all specimens. We do not sacrifice quality for quantity!

Shipping Information for Wholesale Orders:
As stated above, prices listed on the website and this wholesale list are FOB, Roseville, Illinois, meaning freight/insurance costs are not included in the price and will be added to your order. The only exception to this is air/sea cargo shipments (CIF - see below).
See below for shipment options for domestic/international orders.
Domestic Wholesale Orders: We use United States Postal Service (post office-USPS), Federal Express (FEDEX), UPS, or truck freight (very large quantities or large items). Most wholesale orders in the 48 states (continental United States) go through Federal Express Ground. Fedex Ground is very competitive price-wise and have consistently handled rocks very carefully in our experience. Small wholesale orders may go through USPS. UPS is a little expensive given their pickup or drop-off fees but we will send UPS if you wish. Large quantities or large items (those above 150 pounds each) may go truck freight (FEDEX LTL/Freight or another trucking company depending on destination and rates). Items such as this would be barrels or crates. Please contact us for more rate quotes through trucking companies and delivery services needed (liftgate, residential delivery, etc.). These services will require additional freight costs and more specific details on the bill of lading.
International Wholesale Orders: We use direct air cargo (international airport to international airport), United States postal service (post office (USPS)), or Federal Express International (by request only). The shipping method used for international orders is highly dependent on what is shipped and especially the quantity shipped. Smaller orders are almost always shipped through the post office, but large quantities of items or large items (such as drums, crates, large/heavy boxes) are usually shipped air cargo. You may request to pre-pay the freight and insurance before the shipment is exported (CIF), or be responsible for paying of all freight costs upon arrival at your port of entry. We pay brokerage and agent fees in good faith.
Very important for international shipments via air cargo: if shipping is through air cargo, you MUST be able to have the shipment sent to your nearest international airport that handles cargo shipments through the various airlines that handle cargo. Most airlines handle cargo, but some handle only specific kinds of cargo and most also have different policies regarding cargo exporting/importing as well as some airlines only operate in certain locations. We will provide you with freight quotes from various airlines when ordering. You must also realize that you or a customs broker (strongly recommended) will need to clear the goods through customs during or upon arrival of goods at their destination. Goods will not be released to you until goods are cleared through the customs agency in your country, and a grace period from arrival until goods are charged storage by the airline's warehouse exists! Customs fees are your responsibility upon arrival, we are not responsible for those so please keep that in mind before you decide to directly import goods. After goods are cleared through customs, you may pick up or may also arrange to have a local trucking/delivery company deliver the goods to you, but again, this will come at an additional expense. We strongly suggest you check on the process of importing goods through air cargo in your country before you order! We will not be held responsible for any miscellaneous fees you will need to pay upon arrival of goods in your country.

Payment Options:
We accept cash in $USD, checks, money orders, cashier's checks, all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover/Novus, and American Express), Paypal, international money orders, Western Union, and bank transfers. For large wholesale orders, we may ask for a down-payment of 10% of your total order if something has to be special-ordered, and then ask for the remaining balance before goods are shipped. Down-payments are requested when we have to order something to complete or to fill your order.
All money received must be in United States Dollars ($). Please note that currency exchange rates will apply to international orders, so please keep this in mind when making payment. It is your responsibility to check on exchange rates since these markets change daily. For International Orders over US $1000, we may require payment by bank wire transfer or unless you are an established customer, other payments are also accepted.
We do not accept wholesale orders from anyone residing in Nigeria or Ghana, and will double-check legitimate orders in other countries where fraud problems are known to exist (i.e. Singapore and Indonesia, for example).
Personal/business checks, money orders, and cashier's checks drawn on a bank will be held for 7-10 days until check is cleared, regardless of amount.
Credit card orders are shipped immediately upon approval, or if by air cargo, as soon as export documents are processed through our broker (anywhere from 2-10 days depending on order size and time order is placed).
Other payment options inquire on delivery time. It may depend on when we receive payment.
