More Information

Keokuk, Iowa geodes, like many other Midwestern geodes, are occasionally found that are likely of fossil origin.  In the Keokuk, Iowa area, the most common fossil origin geodes are horn corals and crinoid/blastoid heads.  This page offers some specimens of fossil origin that have been encountered during the course of geode mining.  Please take special note that not all of these geodes are hollow - see the item description for more details.
